“World Trade Center: Six Years After” topic of Harpur Forum


       Fredrick Bell, executive director of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter, will give a talk titled “World Trade Center: Six Years After,” at the Harpur Forum breakfast on Wednesday, September 26, at the Binghamton Club in downtown Binghamton. The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and the program begins at 8 a.m.

       Bell, a Yale and Columbia graduate, served on the international design competition program committee for the World Trade Center Memorial. McGraw-Hill’s Engineering News Record also named him a “Newsmaker of the Year” for his involvement in the WTC rebuilding efforts.

       Bell is also known as an advocate for universal design and accessibility. Among his numerous accomplishments, Bell received the Barrier-Free America Award from the Paralyzed Veterans of America, for his advocacy of accessibility in the redevelopment of Lower Manhattan. 

       The Harpur Forum serves business, professional and community leaders by bringing nationally known authorities to speak at functions throughout the year.
