Women business owners discuss a different approach to customer service

2008-05-08

Customer service will be the topic of the Binghamton University Small Business Development Center’s Women Business Owners Roundtable from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, at the Holiday Inn Arena, located on Hawley Street in Binghamton.

Sandy Balzhiser, owner of a training and consulting company, will host an interactive workshop where participants will have a chance to view the customer service video “Give ‘Em the Pickle.” This humorous take on customer service will be followed by a discussion on how to make the transition from situations in the film, to actual customer service policies and how to implement them.  Participants will also receive their own “pickle.”

Balzhiser, who specializes in communication and leadership skills, as well as customer services training, motivational presentation and career counseling, founded S.B. Associates in 1989.

The roundtable costs $10 a person payable at the door and includes a continental breakfast. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards and brochures to share.

Advance registration is required. Call Binghamton University’s Small Business Development Center at 607-777-4024 to register.
