Binghamton University Homecoming 2011


BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University Homecoming 2011 will take place Sept. 23-25 on campus.  About 800 alumni are expected to return to campus this weekend.  The community is welcome to join alumni, students, faculty, and staff for a wide range of activities. 

Signature events include:

An opening mixer from 5 - 9 p.m. on Friday at the Anderson Center Reception Room and party 
deck, featuring DJ music, food stations, and a cash bar.

The Athletics Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, in the West Gym Lobby.

The Alumni Association will present its annual special recognition awards in a ceremony at 3 p.m. Saturday in the West Gym Lobby.

Tailgate ’11, planned for 4 - 7 p.m. on Saturday, is the largest event of Homecoming weekend.   Held outside the Events Center, the tailgate party will precede the men’s soccer home game against Adelphi University. Game time is 7 p.m.


At 5 p.m., the Athletics department will unveil a Bearcat statue that will be a permanent fixture outside the Events Center.

At 11 a.m. on Sunday, the Kristen Faust Inspirational 5K Run/Walk will begin at the East Gym fields. The event will raise money for an endowed scholarship fund.
