Binghamton University and the Academy of Korean Studies to sign $1 million grant agreement


BINGHAMTON, NY -- Binghamton University President C. Peter Magrath and the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) President ChungKil Chung will sign a grant agreement that links the two institutions academically at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Couper Administration Building on the Binghamton University campus.

The five-year $1 million grant will support Binghamton’s Center for Korean Studies and a comprehensive range of programs in research, education and international exchange.

Binghamton is one of only seven institutions in the United States selected to receive the grant. Other recipients include UCLA, University of Washington, Harvard, UC Berkeley, USC and University of Michigan.
