SUNY BEST discusses “SUNY Research – Driving Innovation and Partnerships”
BINGHAMTON, NY – The SUNY Business and Education Cooperative of the Southern Tier (SUNY BEST) will host a presentation, titled “SUNY Research – Driving Innovation and Partnerships,” at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 in room LN 1324C of the Continuing Education and Outreach Department on the Binghamton University campus. This presentation is free and open to the public.
Speaker Jeffrey A. Boyce, director of Research-Supported Economic Development at the Research Foundation (RF) for SUNY will focus on the SUNY research enterprise, an essential component of the innovation ecosystem. SUNY is working in collaboration with private partners, state and regional groups, to maximize research-supported economic development in New York.
In addition to managing the economic development function and related programs of the RF, Boyce is also responsible for linking SUNY campuses, faculty, facilities, technologies, and start-ups to initiatives developed by state entities, private partners, venture investors, and economic development organizations. He created Find A SUNY Scholar, the world’s largest publically available database of faculty profiles and has championed programmatic initiatives to advance innovation-driven economic development in New York. Boyce came to the RF in 2007 as Assistant Vice President for Sponsored Programs, managing award administration services the Foundation provides to SUNY campuses, including negotiating and executing contracts, establishing accounts, submitting invoices and reports to sponsors, monitoring award budgets and receivables.
Boyce has spent 20 years working with academic, government and business groups to build alliances and effectuate a climate conducive to economic growth, in addition to serving on various New York State boards and commissions related to small business, finance, procurement and workforce development.
