Binghamton University hosts sixth annual international student festival
Bringing together international students from around the world in a celebration of music, cultural displays and sporting events, the sixth annual International Student Festival, to be held September 15-17, highlights the diverse culture of Binghamton University. Festival activities are free and open to the public.
The festival’s highlights include championship table tennis in the University Union at 7 p.m. Friday, September 15.
The sporting events continue on Saturday, September 16, with a soccer championship match scheduled for 11 a.m. at the East Gym fields.
Cultural displays and performances add to the weekend of festivities at the “Cultural Showcase, ” a multimedia celebration beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Mandela Room of the University Union. Performances by the Binghamton University Korean Undergraduate Students Association (BU-KUSA), Chinese Student and Scholars Association (CSSA), Graduate African Student Organization (GASO) and the Indian Graduate Student Organization (IGSO) will offer entertaining glimpses of Binghamton University’s diverse campus community.
The festival concludes with two championship sporting events on Sunday, September 17 in the East Gym. A volleyball championship will tip-off at 6 p.m. and a basketball championship game will be held at 7:30 p.m.
The International Student Festival is coordinated through the Office of International Student and Scholar Services and sponsored by a host of campus and community organizations.
