Binghamton University anthropologist to discuss immigration policy
As the debate on immigration continues to heat up, Binghamton University Professor Randall McGuire will weigh in at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, in the Science Library, room 212, on the University campus. The presentation, titled “Crossing La Liñea: A Report From the Other Side,” is free and open to the public.
McGuire, who has spent over 25 years conducting research near the Mexico and Arizona borders, has just returned from three months in the Mexican village Altar, Sonora, the current epicenter of United States immigration debate.
McGuire’s presentation is sponsored by Binghamton University Department of Anthropology, the Latin American and Caribbean Areas Study Program, and the Fernand Braudel Center for the Study of Economies, Historical Systems, and Civilizations.
