Binghamton University to host Coaches vs. Cancer activities this weekend
Binghamton University basketball teams and the American Cancer Society will join forces to fight cancer with Coaches vs. Cancer weekend.
At both the women's game at 1 p.m. Saturday against Maine and the men's game at 1 p.m. Sunday at 1 p.m. against Maine, there will be several fundraisers designed to raise money for the American Cancer Society (ACS).
Binghamton fans can have their photo take with Baxter the Bearcat for a $5.00 donation. They can also make a pledge based on the number of points the Bearcats score at during game. Kids can take a shot at a mini-hoop to win prizes for a $1.00 donation. There also will be a 50/50 raffle at each game. In addition, all fans can simply make a donation to ACS.
Other activities that will take place at the games will be a free Body Mass Index (BMI) screening, a tobacco education/lung machine demonstration, physical activity and nutrition information, a prostate cancer support group as well as general health information.
The Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University will sponsor both games.

Coaches vs. Cancer provides critical mission outreach, while raising funds in support of the Society’s lifesaving cancer research, education, advocacy, and community service efforts. The program has raised more than $25 million since its inception in 1993 to benefit the Society's missions.
