Binghamton University hosts fourth annual international student festival


Bringing together international students from around the world in a celebration of music, food and sporting events, the fourth annual International Student Festival, to be held September 24 and 25, highlights the diverse culture of Binghamton University. Festival activities are free and open to the public.

The festival kicks off with two championship sporting events on Friday, September 24. A volleyball championship will tip-off at 2 p.m. and a basketball championship game will be held at 4 p.m. Both games will be played in the East Gym. 

The sporting events continue on Saturday, September 25, with a soccer championship match scheduled for noon at the East Gym fields. 

Displays, food and performances end the weekend of festivities at the “Cultural Showcase, ” a multimedia celebration to be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Mandela Room of the University Union.  Performances by the Chinese Student and Scholars Association (CSSA), Graduate African Student Organization (GASO) and the Indian Graduate Student Organization (IGSO) will offer entertaining glimpses of Binghamton University’s diverse campus community.

The cultural festival is coordinated through the Office of International Student and Scholar Services and sponsored by a host of campus and community organizations.
