Binghamton University joins Binghamton Housing Authority for community event

2004-09-16

Binghamton University’s Center City Coordination (C3) program, the Binghamton Housing Authority, the Broome County One-Stop Employment Center, and the Carlisle Resident Association (CRA) will host a community event from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, September 17, in the Carlisle Community Center located at 150 Moeller Street, Binghamton.

The event, titled “Opportunities for Carlisle,” is open to Carlisle Apartments residents and will feature workforce information and a school supply give-away.

In recent months, the C3 program and BHA have been working to address a variety of important issues as identified by the CRA. The “Opportunities for Carlisle” event will address and act on two of those issues: providing students in grades 1-12 with school supplies, and working with their parents in finding suitable employment based on their interests and qualifications.

“Opportunities for Carlisle” will offer job-training resources, employment counseling services, job listings, resume and interview tips, BC Transit bus schedule information, and free school supplies for children in grades 1-12

This program is the result of collaborative community efforts by the C3 program, which is sponsored by Binghamton University’s School of Education and Human Development.
