Binghamton University, Broome Community College to host financial aid workshop
Binghamton University and Broome Community College will host a financial aid workshop at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 7, in room 110 of the Thomas J. Watson Engineering and Applied Science building on the Binghamton University campus. The workshop is free and open to the public.
The workshop is being held in support of SUNY Statewide Financial Aid Day. BU and BCC join over 32 campuses in participating in the event.
“This is a great opportunity for students and families to learn first-hand how they can take advantage of the financial aid that is available to help them pay for college,” said State University of New York Chancellor Robert L. King.
Financial aid experts from BU and BCC will be on hand to answer questions and provide assistance with applications, types of aid available and the award process. Representatives from the Educational Talent Search, a federally funded educational opportunities program, will provide tips on completing the 2004 –2005 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), a form required for all financial aid. They will also present information about the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). Families planning to attend should bring their 2003 or 2002 tax returns, bank statements and 2003 untaxed income statements.
