Applications for Rose/Ross University and Community Projects now available
Applications for the 2003 grant cycle for the Marilyn Gaddis Rose and Stephen David Ross University and Community Projects Fund are now available.
In 1998, professors Gaddis Rose and Ross, two Binghamton University faculty members, established a $2.1 million endowment for collaborative university-community projects to encourage activities that promote creative and innovative cooperation between the University and local nonprofit agencies.
Since its inception, the fund has awarded 11 grants totaling more than $100,000. Previously funded projects include scholarships for a summer science enrichment program, the restoration of a local bronze landmark and the development of an orientation booklet for refugees.
All grant applications must include a University partner and a community partner. Grant applications between $10,000 and $25,000 are encouraged, though smaller requests will be entertained.
The application deadline is Tuesday, April 8. Written notification of grant awards will be sent out in early June. For details or to request an application, call the grant administrator, A. Lee Nesslage at 607-777-4278 or via e-mail at email@example.com.
