Two free concerts part of ViolaFest 2002 workshop
Two free concerts will be offered as part of the Violafest 2002 on Saturday, November 16, in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall on the Binghamton University campus. The free concerts are open to the public.
At 1:30 p.m., guest artists will perform standard student repertoire from the New York State School Music Association (NYSMMA) manual and at 4:30 p.m. the Festival Viola Ensembles will perform.
Over 100 students will gather for Violafest, a day-long workshop for budding violists. Sessions are offered for Suzuki-trained beginners, public school beginners, public school students in NYSSMA level 1 through VI, college students, teachers and parents. The 4:30 p.m. concert is the culmination of the workshop sessions.
