Binghamton University offers leadership program
Binghamton University’s School of Education and Human Development will offer a Leadership Skills Development Program during the upcoming academic year. The program offers a series of non-credit certificate courses designed to identify and develop leadership skills and knowledge.
Taught by both corporate trainers and University faculty, the program consists of four modules sequenced to provide participants with basic conceptual and practical skills in leadership. The modules include:
• Management and Leadership: Present and Future
• Communication and Leadership
• Team Leadership
• Project Management
Each module consists of seven weekly sessions held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The program emphasizes an application-oriented, hands-on approach. Registrants may sign-up for all the modules at a total cost of $2,100, which includes a savings of $400. Individual module registration is $625.
Enrollment in the program is limited and preference will be given to those who subscribe to the program in its entirety. Orientation for this program will be held on Wednesday, September 4, with the first session beginning Monday, September 9.
This year, the program celebrates its 20th anniversary and was established as a joint venture between Binghamton University and local industries. Representatives of area companies form a steering committee that provides program direction and guidance.
