Binghamton University communicators win awards
Communicators from Binghamton University received recognition for efforts in alumni publications, video production and community relations at the 2002 SUNY Council for University Affairs and Development (SUNY/CUAD) Awards for Excellence ceremonies held recently in Rochester.
The SUNY/CUAD Awards for Excellence recognizes the work of professionals throughout the State University System in communications and advancement.
Judges Citations were awarded to Binghamton University for:
- Alumni Journal, in the category of Alumni Publications. The magazine is edited by Janice Endresen and is designed by David Skyrca of the Publications staff of University Communications and Marketing. The Publications office is headed by Denise Czuprynski.
- A 30-second commercial produced by Sandra Paniccia of University Communications and Marketing. The commercial was shown during the regionally televised men’s basketball game between the Bearcats and the University of Hartford. During broadcast games of NCAA Division I basketball, schools are invited to air a commercial about their academic and sports programs.
- In efforts to unite the campus in the wake of events surrounding September 11, multiple offices at the University were recognized for community relations activities, “Building Community in the Wake of September 11,” with communication coordinated by Anita Knopp Doll.
SUNY/CUAD IS the State University of New York's professional organization for institutional advancement personnel. Since its origins in 1953 as the State University Public Relations Council, the organization has continued to advance public understanding and serve the professional needs of its members.
