2009-02-11

Binghamton University will offer a one-day leadership conference for girls in grades 7-12 on Saturday, February 21, at the University Downtown Center located on 67 Washington Street.

“Girls Take Charge” will introduce participants to local female leaders who will share their experiences and insights on creating success and making a difference.  Through workshops and skill building sessions, students will identify their own personal leadership style and build confidence in order to mold them as future female leaders.

This years’ keynote speaker will be Binghamton City Council Member Lea Webb, who has been recognized by “O” The Oprah Magazine as one of “tomorrow’s leaders” and selected to attend the first O-White House Leadership Project.  Participants will also have a chance to work with New York City fashion designers, Ana Henao and Erin Darby.

The program will run from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and costs $59, which includes materials and lunch.   For more information call (607) 777-6857 or toll free, 1-877-313-2508.
