Homecoming 2009 to bring students, alumni, community together
Homecoming 2009 will take place on the Binghamton University campus Friday - Sunday, October 2-4. The weekend will include many opportunities for alumni to reunite with classmates, faculty and staff members.
The general public is invited to attend a tailgate party in the Events Center parking lot, starting at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 3. Attendees are welcome to reserve a tailgate spot and bring their grills and food to this outdoor barbecue. Tailgate leads into the annual Homecoming parade, and a men's soccer game against Rhode Island in the Bearcats Sports Complex at 7 p.m., followed by a fireworks display.
Homecoming will have special activities for the classes of 1959, 1969, 1979, 1984, 1989, 1999 and 2009, as well as gatherings for young alumni (2004-08), and geology and philosophy majors. Alumni reunion weekend will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dickinson Community, the 30th anniversary of the Caribbean Student Association, the 25th anniversary of the apartment communities, and the 20th anniversaries of Pi Lambda Phi and the African Student Organization. Telefund callers, call center student information assistants and the Rosefsky scholars will also hold reunions.
