Third Eye Blind and Kid Cudi to perform at Binghamton University
Third Eye Blind and Kid Cudi will perform as dual-headliners at 7 p.m. Sunday, October 11, in the Binghamton University Events Center.
San Francisco-based Third Eye Blind won Billboard’s Modern Rock Track of the Year with the 1997 single “Semi-Charmed Life.” Their debut self-titled album also featured the hits “How’s It Going To Be,” “Jumper,” and “Graduate.” Their latest album, “Ursa Major,” was released August 17 and features “Bonfire” and “Summer Town.”
Kid Cudi is a Brooklyn-based rapper from Cleveland whose debut single, “Day ‘n’ Nite,” became an online favorite in 2008 and won an Urban Music award for Best Single 2009. He was named to Rolling Stone’s list of Top Five best indie hip-hop artists of 2008. His latest album, “Man On the Moon: The End of Day” is due in stores September 15.
According to Aaron Cohn, student association vice president for programming, “It is a unique concert because we are pairing two different genres of music, yet both acts have much in common. Both play a fun show, push the boundaries of their genre, and have widely acclaimed brand new albums. At the same time, the Student Association Programming Board hopes to satisfy two different crowds with a rock band people have loved for years, paired with an up-and-coming rapper that so many have compared to his mentor/co-producer, Kanye West.”
Tickets will be available Tuesday, September 15, at http://sa.binghamton.edu and in person at the SA Box Office (located above the Susquehanna Room). Tickets may also be purchased at the Events Center Box Office beginning Monday, September 21. Tickets to the event are $20 for students and $29 for the public. Additional Events Center fees are $2 for undergraduate students and $3 for the public.
This program is sponsored by the Student Association Programming Board.
