PostSecret founder comes to Binghamton University
Known as "The Most Trusted Stranger in America," founder and author of PostSecret books, Frank Warren will be speaking at 8p.m. Friday, October 2, at Binghamton University’s Anderson Center.
From its humble start as a community art project in 2005, PostSecret has grown into an online blog phenomenon with over 3 million visits per month, and four best-selling books. A fifth book, Confessions on Life, Death, & God, is due to be released October 6. Individuals across the globe send Warren anonymous postcards with their most sacred, soulful secrets. The cards are often crafted in an artful manner, adding additional meaning to their messages.
During his talk Warren will share the inspirational and funny stories behind some of the quarter million secrets he has received over the years. He will also project images of the secrets that were banned from the four PostSecret books. Finally, Warren will talk about his personal secret - an experience he never spoke of for over three decades, and eventually drove him to begin collecting secrets from strangers.
According to Aaron Cohn, the Student Association Vice President for Programming, "this will be an powerful, eye-opening evening for the students and community alike. The topics Frank speaks on transcend all boundaries, and I am confident all in attendance will leave uplifted."
Following the presentation there will be an interactive Q&A as well as a book signing.
