Binghamton University to hold commencement ceremonies May 15-16

BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University will award two honorary doctorates at Commencement ceremonies scheduled for May 15-16, in the Events Center. 

Hedge fund investor and entrepreneur Steven H. Bloom will receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree and speak at the Harpur College of Arts and Sciences morning ceremony to be held at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 16.  Ahmet Acar, rector (president) of Middle East Technical University (METU) in Ankara, Turkey will receive the honorary Doctor of Humane Letters and speak at the Harpur afternoon ceremony to be held at 3:30 p.m.

Overall, Binghamton University will confer approximately 3,352 degrees for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral candidates during Commencement ceremonies.  The University will also recognize its 100,000th graduate during this year’s ceremonies.
