Culture Connector Volunteer Program

The MRC culture connectors act as liaisons between the Multicultural Resource Center and our multicultural communities on campus. This volunteering experience will be documented in students' B-Engaged involvement transcripts. The culture connectors will work 4 hours per week on a flexible schedule and their primary responsibilities are:

  • To learn about the MRC services and programs
  • To connect with MRC undergraduate and graduate interns
  • To assist with MRC outreach activities and programs
  • To help MRC better understand the needs of our multicultural communities
  • To be involved with cultural student organizations and activities

Culture connectors have the opportunity to enhance their professional development, communication skills, and cultural competence. An ideal MRC culture connector volunteer is:

  • Enrolled in full-time undergraduate study
  • Available 4 hours per week to spend on MRC work
  • Willing to learn about MRC and different cultures
  • Outgoing and enjoys interacting with others
