Anderson Center show to highlight flamenco
Ballet Flamenco José Porcel from Madrid, Spain, will perform at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, in the Osterhout Concert Theater.
Porcel’s company includes dan-cers, singers and guitarists. He has studied folkloric and flamenco dance since he was 13 and has performed all over the world. This will be his second Anderson Center appearance.
Tickets, available from the Anderson Center Box Office or by calling 777-ARTS, are $39 for the general public, $34 for faculty, staff and seniors and $20 for students.
DeFleur, Wood to speak at recognition luncheon
The eighth annual Professional Employees Recognition Luncheon and PEC Constituency Meeting will be held from noon-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9.
President Lois B. DeFleur and Darryl Wood, president of the Binghamton Chapter of United University Professions, will speak during this event, which recog-nizes professional employee award recipients. The event, co-sponsored by the President’s Office, UUP and The Research Foundation of SUNY, is open to all University professional employees.

Theatre Department musical opens Nov. 11
Pippin, the Department of Theatre’s next mainstage production, opens Friday, Nov. 11.
Guest director Douglas Hall is working on the production with musical director Susan J. Peters, choreographer Meredith Van Scoy, scene designer Karen Kozlowski and costume designer Julia Adams.
Performances – at 8 p.m. Nov. 11, 12, 18 and 19 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 20 – will be in FA-Watters Theater. Tickets, which cost $16 for the general public, $14 for faculty, staff and seniors and $10 for students, are available through the Anderson Center Box Office, 777-ARTS.
