Important payroll reminder for year-end 2009
Pay stubs and direct deposit advices issued on Dec. 23, 2009, include important year-end tax information for all faculty and staff. It is the only document that will include totals for some deductions that may be necessary for you to report to the IRS during tax return preparation.
Retention of this document will provide year-to-date health insurance premium, long-term care insurance and union dues/fee-payer totals for 2009. These figures may be required when completing some 2009 income tax forms.
These figures are not provided on your 2009 W-2 form, which will be mailed directly to everyone from the New York State Comptroller’s office in Albany by the end of January 2010.
