Government relations, economic development join research division
The office of government relations, the Small Business Development Center and the Trade Adjustment Assistance Center, which all previously reported to the Division of External Affairs, have become part of the economic outreach efforts of the Research Division. The offices will continue to be based in downtown Binghamton.
DeFleur said the change was made to allow External Affairs to concentrate on its primary missions related to fundraising, alumni relations, and communications and marketing, while creating a closer alignment among economic development and outreach efforts in the Research Division. The changes took effect in July.
