Series offered on development opportunities in administration
Series of workshops on professional development in administration is being offered this spring by the professional development and research arm of the School of Education and Human Development.
Each workshop will focus on a different aspect of how to develop administrative and supervisory skills; completion meets course requirements for the Certificate in Administration Program.
- April 21, April 28 - Program Development. Classes will offer an opportunity to learn and practice program development skills for managing the needs of clients and customers within the structure and constraints of an organization. Instructor will be Denise Dyer, community program specialist for the state Office of Children and Family Services. The workshop will be held on the third floor of 218-222 Water St., Binghamton. Registration cost is $258.
- May 13 - Writing Winning Grant Proposals - Step 1. The workshop will provide individuals with an overview of grant funding with a focus on the fundamentals of grant funding sources and writing a winning grant proposal. Instructor will be Allison Alden, director of SEHDs professional development and research division. The workshop will be held in AA-G04. Registration cost is $129.
- May 18 - Writing Winning Grant Proposals - Step 2. The workshop will examine proposal ideas, funding sources, researching data, writing a grant application, budget and follow-up in creating a winning grant proposal. Instructor will be Daniel McCormack. The workshop is in AA-G04. Registration cost is $129.
All sessions will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Continuing Education Units are issued after the completion of each workshop. Continuing Professional Education Units for Public Accountancy (CPE) are offered for the courses and are issued after the completion of each workshop.
