Tau Alpha Upsilon fraternity names Bearcat Clubroom
President Lois B. DeFleur and Tau Alpha Upsilon (TAU) alumnus Michael Marcus '87 checked out the TAU memorabilia in the trophy case by the entrance to the TAU Bearcat Clubroom in the events Center. The trohy case and sign designating the naming of the clubroom were unvieled at a cermony attended by more than 100 TAU alumni. The group donated a total of $280,000 to name the clubroom, with more than 40 percent of the alumni base contributing. Marcus was one of five alumni who contributed the 14-month long fund-raising effort. The others were Geoffery Epstein '89, Larry Hollander '78, Sanjay Malhotra '85 and Brian Segel '85. TAU-the only campus fratenity without a national affiliation-was incorporated in 1961 and has rich history on campus. Among its accomplishments-the group brought the first ambulance for Harpur's Ferry and also started the Binghamton Crosbys a capella group.
