EAP plans lunchtime talks during fall semester
The Employee Assistance Program will offer four free programs on a variety of topics during the fall semester.
A DVD showing and discussion on Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret will take place from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, in LH-12. This presentation will discuss the role of positive thinking, the laws of attraction and taking steps to create abundance in life. The 90-minute DVD will be shown at 10:15 a.m., followed by a discussion facilitated by life coach and consultant Terrie Cashimere. There will be a repeat showing of the DVD at 12:45 p.m. Meet in LH-12 and come and go as needed.
“Identity Theft: Words from a Survivor” will be held at noon Wednesday, Oct. 10, in UUW-324. Presenter Mary Ann Sacharov will share her personal and continuing story of having had her financial information and identity stolen. Preventative tips and local resources will be shared.
“Fathers and Dads: Men and Parenting” with father advocates from the Lourdes PACT program will take at noon Thursday, Oct. 11, in UUW-325. Discussion will include the joys, challenges and meanings of parenting, along with a packet of local resources for fun and affordable activities.
“Ask the Librarian! The Hidden World of the University Libraries” with subject librarian Sarah Maximiek will take place at noon Tuesday, Nov. 13, in the Library Instruction Lab, Newcomb Reading Room. This is a hands-on class to learn how to access a myriad of information from your computer so you and your family can use the resources of the Binghamton University Libraries.
