Binghamton University to host 5K Run during Homecoming weekend
BINGHAMTON, NY -- The Binghamton University Alumni Association will host the Kristen Faust Inspirational 5K Run and Walk at 11 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 25, as part of the Homecoming 2011 festivities. The event, which is open to the public, will start and finish at the East Gym on campus.
The race is in memory of Kristen Faust, a Class of 2000 graduate who died in 2006. Faust was a two-sport athlete at Binghamton, where she earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, and worked as a senior counselor in the University Counseling Center.
Event proceeds will benefit the Kristen Faust Memorial Fund, an endowed scholarship benefiting a Binghamton University senior who expresses a strong commitment to social work and counseling.
The entry fee is $20, and includes a free t-shirt for those who pre-register by Sept. 9. On-site registration will cost $30, and begins at 9:30 a.m., on Sunday, Sept. 25. For more information or to register, visit faust5k.com, or call the Office of Alumni Relations at 607-777-2431.
