BINGHAMTON, NY – The SUNY Business and Education Cooperative of the Southern Tier (SUNY BEST) will host a presentation, titled “Uniting education, healthcare, technology and tourism to advance the economy” at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 5 in room 1324C, Library North, located on the University campus. This presentation is free and open to the public.

Ray Durso, executive director of the Genesis Group, will discuss how his organization unites individuals and organizations to advance the economy, culture and social fabric of the Mohawk Valley, while fostering regional unity and cooperation.  Durso will also discuss how Genesis brings about cooperation and seeks out and encourages member participation.

The Genesis Group was founded in 2000 by community leaders interested in transforming the Mohawk Valley into a region of positive economic, social and quality of life changes. Focusing on education, health care, technology and tourism, the group offers several programs, partnering with area agencies in a 12-county marketing campaign.

SUNY BEST is a volunteer group working to forge strong alliances, strengthen industry specific needs and provide information and outreach for business.
