BINGHAMTON, NY – Binghamton University Homecoming 2012, sponsored by the Binghamton University Alumni Association, will take place from Oct. 12 to 14 on campus. Alumni and members of the Binghamton-area community are welcome to participate in a wide range of spirit-filled activities.

Opening mixers will take place on Friday evening at the Events Center, followed by Late Nite Madness, an evening showcasing the men’s and women’s basketball teams and spirit squads. A fireworks display will follow. Saturday activities include the Athletics Hall of Fame induction ceremony and the opening of the Harpur Quad and Wall of Excellence.

The signature event of the weekend will be a tailgate party scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon outside the Events Center. The public is invited to bring grills, food, and beverages, and join a spectacle that attracts more than 1,000 people each year. Tailgate ’12 precedes the 7 p.m. men’s home soccer game against the University of Vermont. A 5K run/walk will take place Sunday morning at 11 a.m.
