     Internationally renowned social critic, intellectual and author, Camille Paglia, will speak at 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, in the Anderson Center Chamber Hall on the Binghamton University campus. The reading is free and open to the public. 
Paglia, the 2006 Milton Kessler Distinguished Reader, was recognized by Foreign Policy and Prospect magazines as among the “100 Top Public Intellectuals in the World.” Paglia’s best-selling books include, Break, Blow, Burn; Sexual Personae: Art and Decadence from Nerfertiti to Emily Dickinson; Sex, Art, and American Culture; and Vamps and Tramps: New Essays.

    Paglia, a Binghamton University alum and Endicott native, is a former student of the late Milton Kessler, English professor and founder of Binghamton University’s creative writing program.

    The reading, which will be followed by a book signing and reception is sponsored the Milton Kessler Poetry Fund and the Center for Writers at Binghamton University, with support from the Binghamton University Foundation, the Harpur Dean's Office, and the Alumni Association.
