     Alan November will give a talk titled “Building Learning Communities” when the Harpur Forum meets on Wednesday, December 7, at the Binghamton Regency.

     November, senior partner of November Learning Inc. and author of Empowering Students with Technology, is a leader in education technology. He has been a dormitory counselor for at-risk students, a teacher, a city planner and a new school designer. His ideas about global communication, collaboration, assessment and critical thinking have inspired schools, governments and corporations to rethink their approach to education and technology.

     The breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and the program will begin at 8 a.m. The talk will be followed by a workshop titled “Creating a New Culture of Teaching and Learning” from 9:30-11:30 a.m., also at the Regency.

     The Harpur Forum serves business, professional and community leaders by bringing nationally known authorities to speak at Forum functions throughout the year.
