Binghamton University nursing students invite residents to FAST

The Decker School of Nursing at Binghamton University will hold two free stroke prevention programs on Thursday, August 18, at the Center City Coordination Project (C3) located on the third floor of 222 Water Street, Binghamton. The programs, titled “Facts for Action to Stroke Treatment,” will take place at 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.

Registered nurses from the Decker School will teach participants how to recognize the signs and symptoms of a stroke.  More than 750,000 strokes occur annually and according to recent studies 80 percent of all strokes may be preventable with proper attention to medical and lifestyle risk factors.

Call 607-777-4862 to register.  For more information about the FAST program contact Pam Stewart Fahs at 607-777-6805.
