Binghamton University to mark September 11 with quiet reflection

The Binghamton University campus community will pause at 12:15 p.m. Friday, September 10, in the Memorial Courtyard, to remember the events of September 11, 2001, during which thousands of innocent lives, including 15 Binghamton alumni, were lost.

President Lois B. DeFleur will lay a wreath in the courtyard and deliver brief remarks.

Landscape architect Michael Radner, a 1986 Binghamton University graduate, designed the Memorial Courtyard. It was dedicated October 12, 2002, and is located in the courtyard of the Fine Arts building.

At 8:46 a.m. Saturday, September 11, University Police will lower the American flag in front of the Couper Administration building to half-staff.
