Binghamton University offers 9/11 lecture series

Binghamton University is sponsoring a four-part lecture series, “The U.S., the World and 9/11.” Speakers will address a series of issues, including changes in U.S. foreign policy, U.S. military policy, civil rights and liberties in the United States and abroad, and foreign perceptions of the U.S. as a world power. The series is free and open to the community. All lectures will begin at 7 p.m..

Immanuel Wallerstein will be the first speaker Tuesday, September 9, in Casadesus Hall, to be followed by Herbert Bix Tuesday, October 28; Donald Quataert Tuesday, November 4; and Ali Mazrui Thursday, November 20.

The series is sponsored by the departments of Sociology and History, the Fernand Braudel Center for the Study of Economies, Historical Systems, and Civilizations; the Institute of Global Cultural Studies, and the Harpur College Dean's Office.
