Binghamton University student wins chemistry fellowship

Binghamton University graduate student Li Han has been awarded a 2003-04 Academic Year Graduate Fellowship by the American Chemical Society (ACS), Division of Analytical Chemistry. The fellowship is sponsored by Merck & Company, a pharmaceutical products and services company. ACS Graduate Fellowships are awarded to students who have outstanding academic records and research productivity.

Han, a PhD candidate in analytical chemistry, is conducting research under the direction of Professor C. J. Zhong focusing on the study of nanostructured sensing materials. She received her bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Wuhan University, China. Han is also a recipient of Binghamton University’s Excellent Research Assistant Award and Dissertation Year Fellowship Award.
