“Working with the Media…to get Your Message Across,” will be the topic of the Small Business Development Center’s Women Business Owners Roundtable discussion from 7:30 - 9:30 a.m. Friday, October 25, at the Binghamton Regency on Water Street in downtown Binghamton.

Jeff Platsky, business editor at the Press & Sun-Bulletin, will offer tips and techniques on determining the “what, when, why, where and who” that help make newsworthy stories. Platsky will discuss the newspaper’s mission in the community and how the business section approaches its daily report. 

Platsky has been with the Press and Sun-Bulletin for 17 years and with Gannett Newspapers for 20 years. Platsky has an MBA from Binghamton University and is a graduate of the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.

The roundtable costs $7 a person and includes a continental breakfast. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards, brochures and product samples to share.
