BINGHAMTON, NY -- The New York State University Police at Binghamton University has received the Excellence-Law Enforcement Service Award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), in conjunction with the State of New York Division of Criminal Justice Services, and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

The award recognizes the efforts of the University Police in the areas of drunk driving education programs and enforcement efforts. University Police Lieutenant Marc Leniek, who spearheads the department’s efforts, was presented with the award during the Mothers against Drunk Driving annual Law Enforcement Recognition Luncheon held in Schenectady, New York.
