Binghamton University hosts 33rd Annual College-in-the-Woods fundraiser
BINGHAMTON, NY -- The College-in–the-Woods Dining Hall at Binghamton University will be transformed into a casino on Saturday, March 20, complete with roulette, blackjack and chance wheels with all proceeds going to a good cause. The fundraising event, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., is open to the public.
Known as Casino-in-the-Woods, the annual event, hosted by the College-in-the-Woods area government, is celebrating its 33rd anniversary. Each year, Casino-in-the-Woods benefits a different local organization. This year, the proceeds will go to the Miles of Smiles Foundation. The organization's mission is to provide scholarships to students with humanitarian characteristics; donate sports equipment to those who cannot afford it, and supports neurological research.
This year’s theme will be “Casino-in-the-West,” transporting guests back into a time of saloons, stagecoaches, sheriffs, and outlaws. A cover charge of $3 includes refreshments and additional Wild West themed entertainment. Participants purchase chips to play games of chance.
