Professional Development Grant

Professional Development Committee of PEC is pleased to announce the availability of the Professional Development Grant and is now accepting application for expenses incurred during the 2014 calendar year. The Professional Development Grant offers financial reimbursement opportunities for the efforts of campus professionals in the area of development, growth and or advancement.

Eligible applicants include PEC represented employees from the areas of Research Foundation, M/C and UUP. Eligibility period is January 1, 2014 through December 31, 2014. Hard copy deadline for applications is April 30, 2015 and should be sent to Elise Thornley, Professional Development Committee Chair, Libraries. 2014-15 Year's Accomplishment by PEC

  • Updated Professional Development Page on PEC website
  • Toured the new facilities at the Innovative Technologies Complex –Center for Excellence, with Senior Architect William Hall
  • Created and submitted PEC Roadmap Proposal which addressed the need for a program that would assist professional employees in moving up the career ladder
  • Executive Board reviewed Road Map proposals, via President's request
  • Executive Board interviewed candidates for Ombudsman position
  • Executive Board interviewed candidates for Vice President of Operations
  • Reviewed a list of campus-wide committees that professional staff can serve on
  • Discussed Temporary Part-Time hire issue with President Stenger
  • Held a Professional Employee Tuition Assistance Benefits Panel
  • Creating a survey to send to professional employees across campus to gather feedback on how best the PEC can serve their constituents
  • Currently working to attend Employee Orientation on welcoming new employees
