Honorary degree recipient Steve Karmen receives a standing ovation after delivering an emotional speech during the professional schools Commencement ceremony about his journey to pursue his passion for music and his desire to win approval from his parents. Karmen, a self-taught musician, is famous for writing more than 2,000 advertising jingles including the New York state song, "I Love New York," as well as "Trust the Midas touch," "Nationwide Is on Your Side," "Hershey, the Great American Chocolate Bar," the Budweiser Clydesdale theme song and "Here Comes the King."
