The Titan Arum (aka corpse flower), named Metis, bloomed late Sept. 14, at Binghamton University's E.W. Heier Teaching and Research Greenhouse. Shown here at left, biological sciences alumna Becky Urban '01, MA '04, PhD '08, currently an assistant professor of biology at Lebanon Valley College in Pennsylvania, measures the plant at 63 centimeters tall on Sept. 11. In the middle photo, Metis starts to bloom Sept. 14. At right, alumnus Andrew Griffiths '08, from Binghamton, observes the flower Wednesday morning, Sept. 15.
