The World Politics Workshop will meet in the Banks Room at 1:00-2:00 on Fridays.

The Comparative-American Workshop will meet irregularly this semester. Unless otherwise noted, meetings will be in the Banks Room at 2:30-3:30 on Fridays.

Adriana Buliga-Stoian and Michael Allen have been accepted to the EITM 2008 Summer Institutes in Washington University in St. Louis (Allen) and Duke University (Buliga-Stoian).

The department congratulates doctoral candidate Brandon Zicha, who has been offered a prestigious pre-doctoral fellowship in a research group on "Media, Movements, and Politics" at the University of Antwerp, Belgium.

The department congratulates Geoff McGovern, who has won a Fulbright scholarship to conduct dissertation research in Finland for AY 2008-2009.

The department congratulates doctoral candidate Julie VanDusky, who has won a Fulbright scholarship to conduct dissertation research in Mexico for AY 2008-2009.

The department is pleased to announce that Seden Akcinaroglu will be joining the faculty (in the World Politics subfield) in fall 2008. Seden expects to complete her PhD at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign this summer.
