SP1.8: Raise the Scholarly Profile of PhD Programs

This project calls for the enhancement of graduate programs by increasing faculty productivity and rankings, based on Academic Analytics data. We will meet with chairs and graduate directors of doctoral programs, share data and discuss performance metrics, shining a spotlight on productivity and reputation, highlighting campus awareness of it, and challenging programs to develop plans to increase productivity. In fall 2013, five reviews were completed. Several more are scheduled for spring 2014. The campus has continued its subscription to Academic Analytics and is discussing an upgrade that would enable a more granular analysis of program faculty.

Goals advanced under this project:

  1. Become a Nationally Recognized University for Outstanding Doctoral Education
  2. Increase Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activities Profile to that of a Premier Public University
