SP2.1: Enhance the Center for Learning and Teaching

The primary objective of this initiative is to position the CLT as a leader on campus, supporting excellence in student-centered learning as a cornerstone to our identity as a highly selective, residential campus. The project has met all leading objectives. Coordination with the Learning Environment Committee and Physical Facilities is on track to develop new standards for learning environments, and to develop a state-of-the-art "learning studio" to serve as a teaching laboratory incorporating innovative educational technology, flexible layout and multi-use design. Mini-grants to support instructional innovations by faculty, an expansion of the University Tutoring System, a national certification process, "road shows" to highlight the importance of effective teaching and coordination with EOP and athletics to combine and coordinate training programs have been initiated.
