Binghamton in the City Week

The Division of Student Affairs was a central University partner in the success of one of Binghamton’s signature initiatives – Binghamton in the City Week (BITC). BITC is a week-long series of events in New York City each January that spotlights Binghamton’s extraordinary presence in the Big Apple and brings together Binghamton alumni, students, parents and newly admitted students. New to BITC this year was a kick-off event at the Bryant Park skating rink where more than 500 students, alumni, parents and newly admitted students wearing Binghamton green enjoyed an evening of skating and networking.

Once again, Metro Connections Night was a centerpiece of the BITC program. Over 125 alumni attended to share career advice with the over 325 students who attended. New to Metro Connections 2016 was a grand new location in mid-town (Gotham Hall) and a program for parents. Metro Connections Night was surrounded by a week of employer visits for our students, often hosted by Binghamton alumni.  Students had the chance to tour 60 different employer sites in New York City over the course of the week. More than 430 unique students participated and there were over 1,150 visit slots. Other BITC events included the EOP Book Fund Endowment Campaign launch and several events for Binghamton alumni. Look for news on BITC 2017 and the possibility of new events being added to this growing program.
