Student Affairs staff kudos

Dean of Students staff presents at international conference

Student affairs administrators are responsible for providing guidance to students and connecting them with opportunities that will allow them to develop the skills necessary for becoming effective leaders. Jazell Johnson, assistant director of case management and budgeting, and Graduate Assistant Sarah Connelly presented at the ACPA –College Student Educators International Convention March 8, in Montreal, Canada. Their presentation aimed to outline an internship program offered through the Office of the Dean of Students at Binghamton University that provides such an opportunity to students and facilitates close, effective connections between higher-level University administrators, staff, faculty and the student body.

ACUI honors 2016 awards and scholarships recipients in New Orleans

Members of the Association of College Unions International gathered in New Orleans to present more than 30 awards and scholarships to honor excellence in the college unions and student activities profession, recognize contributions to the association, celebrate writing and research and provide professional development opportunities to recipients.

Excellence in Volunteer Service Award

​Jennifer Keegin, associate director for campus activities, received the Excellence in Volunteer Service Award, created to honor individuals who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to and success in a non-Leadership Team volunteer role within the association​. Volunteering with ACUI for over 15 years, Keegin created the Late Night Programs Community of Practice, and currently leads the Technology Community of Practice. She has served on numerous conference planning teams both regionally and internationally, and volunteered as a member of the Education and Research Fund team for many years.
