Sharing knowledge with the Greater Binghamton region

The Alumni Association speaker series titled Thirsty (for Knowledge) Thursday has returned for a second season. Each month, alumni and friends in the Greater Binghamton area can hear a fellow graduate or faculty expert discuss a hot topic. Events typically take place on campus at the Alumni Center in the Jay S. and Jeanne Benet Alumni Lounge. This year, to accommodate working professionals, some events will be held in downtown Binghamton. Seth Spain, assistant professor in the School of Management, discussed his research about “The Dark Side of Leadership” at the October event; his work has recently been covered by national news media. Leigh Ann Wheeler, professor of women’s studies and history, was the featured speaker at the November event, talking about the evolution in social norms concerning women’s clothing styles.
