Introducing Harvey Stenger to key audiences

With presidents playing such a crucial role in relationships with key University constituents – alumni, parents, community leaders and friends – the Division of External Affairs established a schedule for President Harvey Stenger to meet as many of these individuals as possible. He has met a number of key stakeholders and served as the keynote speaker for significant “meet the president” events in New York City and Washington, DC, and shared his vision with the Binghamton University Foundation and Alumni Association boards. Plans are in place for swings through New York state, New England, Florida and the West Coast in coming months.

Communications and Marketing staff have also worked closely with the president. In addition to the many interviews set up with reporters for him to talk about his vision for the University, Stenger has responded to reporters’ queries on many topics including NYSUNY 2020 and Binghamton’s NYSUNY 2020 proposal for enrollment growth, hiring and a Smart Energy Research and Development Facility; his strategic planning process; deer culling; a proposed business incubator; lab openings; and more.

After sitting down with the president on the fourth day of his official duties, the Binghamton University Magazine introduced Stenger in its spring issue through an extended Q & A. His strong advocacy for the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Proposal is being featured in the magazine’s summer issue.
