The Center for Civic Engagement (CCE) was recognized for the second year in a row with an Outstanding Student Affairs Program Award from the State University of New York. Binghamton was one of only three SUNY schools so recognized (Geneseo and Oswego). The award was in the category of town-gown relations and honored CCE’s work with the area community following the September 2011 flood that devastated parts of the Southern Tier.

Through the efforts of the Career Development Center (CDC), Binghamton University students were, for the first time, extended the opportunity to apply to the prestigious White House Intern Program. We are very proud that Katherine Schumacher, a 2012 graduate of the College of Community and Public Affairs, has been selected as Binghamton University’s very first White House Intern and is interning there this summer.
